Read on BLなう!

In keeping with our policy of not scanlating licensed material, we’ll be doing detailed summaries of future LS!! manga chapters instead of scanlations. There’s no reason you guys should have to wait 2-3 years to see what happens next just because a company licensed the manga, and without ongoing updates like this, your interest in the series is likely to wane, meaning you won’t be interested in picking up those volumes! So we’re doing this as a service to keep interest alive while balancing our desire to encourage people who can buy the manga to do so. We’ll be giving super detailed summaries, complete with lots of images (all the best ones, so you’re not missing any big gems ;)), so if for whatever reason you won’t be able to purchase this when it’s officially available in English, you’ll still be just as informed as everyone else!

Again, there was NO Back Stage!! manga installment this month either, unfortunately, despite previous assurances there would be a new chapter in this issue, and we’re not sure whether or not to expect one in the May issue (out at the end of March), but we’ll let you know as soon as we do!

For now, go see what Izumi, Ryouma, Shougo, and Rei are up to!

  1. Great that the whole amnesia arc has ended well. Thanks a lot for your hard work, guys!
    But no Back Stage…damn (((

  2. well, at least there is a new fan sub group that will continue translating the manga chapters. I’m glad.

    • It’s great to know that another group is shouldering the heavy burden of running the risk of getting sued! But please, feel free to let us know more about how little you care for our efforts to balance the gray area of scanlating with a desire to support the artists AND not get pinged for those gray areas. Especially since you contribute so importantly to the process! Oh wait…

  3. I don’t usually say anything, and maybe it’s not my place to, but, stellaluna, considering all of September Scans hard work and all the wonderful stories they’ve offered us, I think your comment was out of line.

I know the topic of whether or not to scanlate is a hot one, but I personally believe that scanlation does create interest. Many of the manga I purchase I do so because I saw at least a part of the story scanlated and loved it. Had I only seen a Japanese version of it, I wouldn’t have nearly the same desire to own it because I wouldn’t know if the story was any good. Pictures alone can create just so much interest.

However, I, and I know a lot of others believe it’s the honorable thing to do to discontinue scanlating a manga that has been legally licensed. While most of us wouldn’t buy these manga in their original Japanese, buying them in English and supporting the mangaka and the English language publishers of manga as much as possible is the right thing to do.

As an author whose copyrighted books have been distributed for free on the internet, I appreciate anyone who would take steps to see that I at least receive some payment for all the hours of writing I put in to make a story that hopefully others would enjoy. This is what I do for a living. If I don’t get paid who’s going to pay my monthly bills? You? Definitely not, nor are there any other volunteers.

It’s all too easy to lose track of the fact that mangaka, artists, authors and others in similar occupations do this type of work not only because they love it, but because they hope to be paid for it. They have lives that require the acquisition of money so they can do such simple things as purchasing food and heating their homes and its people like you who feel they are entitled to all their hard work for free who make it that much harder for them to get by in the world.

    You should be ashamed.

My apologies to September Scanlations for this rant. Please don’t hesitate to remove my post if you find it inappropriate and just know that I am thankful for all your hard work and your generosity in sharing it with us. Your willingness to walk the slippery tightrope of decision when it comes to what should and shouldn’t be scanlated and your efforts to do the right thing are also deeply appreciated.

  4. Thank you so much for your hard work in this detailed summary!
You guys are awesome as usual!

As for stellaluna, shame on you for that selfish comment.
Why are you here if another scanlation grup will continue this series anyway!?

  5. Thank you very much! <3

  6. Ugh, that stellaluna commenter above really pissed me off on behalf of your team D<
That's way too low. Just because they couldn't get the whole situation they go about being rude to the people involved. I wish people would stop being so darn ignorant about how scanlation works.

Anyway, your team rocks! Thank you for your continued work on this series! I love your team as much as I love all the works you scanlate <3 Thank you so much!!

  7. Thank you very much. This chapter was ridiculous and cheesy, but somewhat sweet all the same. I suppose I suffer from detachment again because I hadn’t read the preceding chapters immediately before this summary. Here’s to hoping that the next story arc will be somewhat less superstitious. (The whole hypnosis thing was a bit so and so for me.)

  8. Thank you for your hard work!

stellaluna, if you don’t have intentions to read September’s summaries then there’s no need to comment too. You sound like the bigots who come to GLBT movies/books to abuse something they don’t intent to get.

  9. Thank you!

  10. Thank you ^^

  11. Thanks for the summary! Happy to keep reading and appreciate your work.
