[manga] Miwakujikake Amai Wana ~ 01

July 4, 2013 // miwakujikake

Type: Manga
Series: Miwakujikake Amai Wana ~ Lured into a Sweet Trap
Author/Circle: Nekota Yonezou
Rating: R
Language: English
Download: mega, jumpshare
Summary: Amami’s a low-man on the totem pole at a tiny start-up firm–and his superior Hachidori really seems to have it out for him. They’ve got history themselves, which helps nothing, but one evening, Amami learns Hachidori’s deepest, darkest secret…which tilts his impression of the guy on its head.
Notes: Gonna go ahead and warn people that this first chapter contains homophobic slurs, comedic (?) threats of sexual violence, and serious mentions of past sexual assault (in memories); read at your own will! Nekota’s definitely had ups and downs in the past and hasn’t always treated rape as seriously as it ought to be, so we’re treading lightly with this new series but hope it proves a great read!

  1. Wow! Can’t wait to read it! Thank you!

  2. orquidea_negra1 July 4, 2013 at 12:47 am

Thank you so much for the new project.

  3. well, i love all yonezou-sensei works!! ty so much for sharing!!!

  4. Thank You so much

  5. Thank you! I hope it turns out to be a great reading too!

  6. Oh god, I have a feeling I will need to disperse reading chapters of this with chapters of Kanada Neko as a palate cleanser (does that author know consensual fluff or what?).

I really hope this picks up into something good. It has a lot of potential but running into certain BL (*cough*Domestica*cough* and worse) makes me leery.

  7. Thank you ^^/

  8. Thank you very much!!!^-^

  9. LuluGoesBerserk July 4, 2013 at 1:20 am

More Nekota Yonezou is good, if only sesnei could finish a few stories before starting with new stuff~ :3 Thanks a bunch, guys!

  11. Thank you! Wow this new project looks really good! Can’t wait to read it!

  12. Oh Dear Heaven…

I think I will be following this if umm, nothing more drastic happens (because Hachi’s line as humourous/slightly bullying one can be accepted, but if that’s not the case…. ). I agree with what Sharna wrote before me…

I’m trusting your judgement though and we’ll see how this goes :)

    Other than that, it looks really very interesting. And man, Amami sure has a lot of bad luck ;A;

  13. OMFG THIS IS TOTALLY GONNA BE A GOOD ONE. I can soooo feel it or it’s just coz I’m such a fan of sensei OTL

On the other note, when will Konya mo Nemurenai’s next chapter gonna come out? o,O

  14. Thank you so much !!!

  15. Thank you for the new series ^^

  16. Thank you!<3

  17. Oh god, so funny xD So happy another manga from Nekota-sensei, she’s just too crazy about her couples, thanks a lot

  18. Thank you so muchhh!! Been waiting for this since I saw the cover >w<

  19. Thank you for the new series. It has a promising story. I think Hachidori is going to help Amami through his trumatic past and love will bloom along the way.

  20. oh My God been waiting for this one… thank you so much for sharing :)

  21. You were right. It was a little hard reading this chapter. I’ve almost forgotton about prejudice that exists outside the BL manga world, when reading yaoi. (Hope that makes sense).

Hopefully sensei can carry us over the tough spots.

Still Amani’s got some real bad luck there. And that last scene seems to hit all his trauma buttons. Hope he isn’t a complete quivering mess after that.

    Thank you.

  22. Thank you so much!! I had been looking forward to this ever since I saw the cover! Can’t wait to read it and thank you very much for the content warning.

  23. thank you so much for the scanlations :)

  24. YES! This looks interesting!!! :3 Thank you!! <3

  25. I’m a fan of sensei so thank you for picking this up.
Let’s hope it will be closer to Elektel Delusion than some of her others works (by these I mean consensual relationship and no rape-you-but-will-love-you)

  26. OMG… I’m sure it’s gonna be a great series!!!
Thank you soooo much for working on this one!!!!(=^ε^=)

  27. sounds interesting!
thanks for a new series :D

  28. Thank you :)

  29. Thank you so much! <3

  30. Thank you for the release!

  31. Kevinearthson July 4, 2013 at 2:56 am

Kyaaaaaa!!! It’s new Nekota Yonezou?! Thank you so much, I love you!!! XD <3 <3 <3

  32. AHH, a new Nekota project! Thank you <3

  33. Thank you :D

  34. Waaaaah! I can’t believe you already translated this chapter! As always thank you very much!!!

  35. Thank you so much.. =)

  36. Thank you so much for your hard work!!! ♥

  37. Thank you very much for new project!!!

  38. wow! thanks for the hard work! can’t wait to read this xx

  39. Thanks so much! I’m excited!

  40. New project, kyaaaa! Thanks a lot! ^_^

  41. Thank you so much for this!

  42. Thank you very much for picking this new series from sensei!! <3

  43. Wow. Thanks for the heads-up on this one. Again, wow… He’s just a nasty little sh*t, and I couldn’t possibly care what happens to him.

  44. OH MY GODDNESS!!!!
Thank you so very much! ♥♥♥

  45. Wahh OMG Nekota-sensei!! Thank you very much!

  46. Oh hellz yah!! You guys are the cleanest editing group, with the best translations as well, so I’m ecstatic that you guys are taking on this project. I think this is the first time Nekota’s addressed the culture directly, instead of just making her characters search the internet or something. Looking forward to seeing how she deals with it!

  47. It looks good. It seems to me that Hachi is just making a fake threat in order to protect himself but i don’t think that he will be really violent with Amami (I hope so).
The themes treated can be really interesting and fun if they are well treated, so we’ll see…
    Thank you so much. ^^

  48. Wow!!! Thank you soooo much! I love Nekota Yonezou, and this one seems more realistic than her previous manga… I love heart-wrenching stories which deals with serious topic!

  49. Thank you so much guys!

  50. Just finished reading this! Hilarious! Recommended!^^

  51. I look forward to reading another manga by the wonderful Nekota Yonezou sensei. Thank you. (^_^)

  52. Thank you! I have a huge soft spot for Nekota Yonezou’s chibi faces. So cute. I did laugh at the gaping hole comment though, that was kinda funny.

  53. happy yaoister July 4, 2013 at 6:25 am

Whoa! I was just reading comments at mangago. First day of upload and fans are going ga-ga over this manga. That includes me. This is also the reason why I don’t like to read ongoing manga since the waiting kills me but, I’m just thankful that it’s you, guys, doing this and hopefully will continue to update…I know that if it’s your group then I can see this to the end.

I hope the story will go the way of healing and acceptance…

  54. Thank you!

  55. Thank you !!

  56. thank you guys!!

  57. When i’m older, I wanna marry you guys ;_; hahaha

Thanks so much for this project! I love Nekota-sensei art :3

  58. jemenfiche666 July 4, 2013 at 7:26 am

Thank you so much for this chapter! The story so far seems very different to other works by the same author and just generally in bl. Very interested to see where it goes, hope it doesn’t take a turn for the worse and you guys continue to translate it. Thanks for all your hard work!

  59. Thank you thank you!!! Love this sensei her art is beautiful thanks soo much!!

  60. thank you! as always good job!

  61. Saya_Loveless July 4, 2013 at 8:15 am

  62. thank you!! :)

  63. thank you! as always nekota-sensei’s mangas never bore me :D

  64. Thank you!

  65. Looks interesting. Thank you for the release!

  66. wowwwwwwwwww so interesting !!! hope next chap will come out soon !! love you guys <3

  67. Thanks for the new release.

  68. Subarashii!!! *o* Another promising manga by Nekota sensei! I couldn’t have asked for more! I just hope it won’t turn out to be a cliché… Anyway, thanks a bunch for sharing it and good job as always! You guys are amazing ヽ(○´∀`)ノ♪

  69. It looks very interesting. Thanks a lot!

  70. OOOooohhh!!! Thank you!!!

The last page was soooo Japanese.. (“We don’t care if you’re a spoiler or a spoiler while you do your work!” XDDD I don’t think I could do has Hachi! hahaha)

  71. Thanks!!

  72. I LOVE this so far, and I can’t wait to see where she takes it. It’s so real in how you’ve had someone (Amami) have a hard time of it and has understandable phobias. Then you have someone else (Hacchi), who’s probably had to deal with prejudice, having a short fuse and talking crap. So glad she is adding levity cause this is really delving into deep issues and a pure drama would be depressing to the nth degree.

  73. Love her artwork!
Thank you very much for sharing!

  74. Waaaaah Just when I really want to read it yippiiiieee!
Thank you so much for picking up this wonderful manga, so happy
Many thanks for the hard work ^ ^

  75. Kat,

We definitely understand leeriness and feel the same way, but we wanted to go ahead and get a start on it just in case our worries are for nothing. If it starts to go down the wrong path, though, we’ll likely have to step away from it. We aren’t averse to doing darker stories that deal with rape (see: Michiru Heya), but we don’t want to support stories that brush it off as just another part of being in a relationship.

  76. Thanks a bunch for the new series!!

Can’t wait for the rest! Looks really interesting…wonders what’s the deal with Amamami-kun’s reactions…

  78. Well I have to admit that when there’s rape in between I’ll just move forward only if it’s treated with a serious and realistic point of view, not banality and false, extremely false romanticism (a pretty decent example that I like very much: Escape by Kyuugou) so I thank u guys for this project even if it seems quite questionable, well what I appreciate most is your warning of this new serie.
And yes after saying all this I will read it, because if you put such thing in front of my eyes, it’s obvius to say that I’m going to take a little bite of it just out of curiosity, it’s unavoidable XD Then I’ll have time to process the content and to see if it’s worth it or not.

Once again, thanks for the chapter.

  79. Thank you for the new release! ^^

  80. Thank you so much for a new releases!! \^o^/

  81. Thanks so much, I’m excited to read it! I know it will at least be pretty. ^^

  84. looking forward the next chapter. . . THANK YOU :)

  85. Thank you so much for all of your hard work! I really can’t wait for the next chapter of this~ I like how the author is approaching the reality of homosexuals and that these situations exist. I hope Hachidori’s just being a queen and not actually going to act on his word.

  86. awesome omg, i just made inhuman sound when i saw this post, THANK You!

  104. Thank you ^_^

  105. Huo!

Thank you so much for sharing!

  106. Thank you very much!!

  107. echizen_patrice July 4, 2013 at 8:07 pm

    thanks for this new release!

  108. Thank you so much!

  109. Thank you for the new series and thank you for the head’s up regarding it. There are some really intriguing story possibilities in their inherent character conflict – I have my fingers crossed that this story goes well. I know way too much about RL trauma to be able to treat it as a light throwaway plot device when it is presented in such an in-one’s-face manner. I know sensei is capable of some very real explorations of feelings, so I’m cheering for her!

  110. Thank you very much for the hard work!
    Yes, i hope rape/sexual assault doesn’t become a trope again, too…*le sigh*

  111. I loved it, can’t wait for the next chapter :-) Thank you for taking this project on :-)

  112. Thank you very much.

  131. Gosh I love this type of story ;p Excellent job for picking it guys… v^_^v & absolute thanks for translate this hehe…

  132. thank you ! I love checking out your new projects

  133. Thank you!

  134. Thank you for the release and for the warning! I like Nekota Yonezou’s works but not all of them exactly because of the way she treats certain things…
going to read this one with caution!

  135. Yay~
I love manga that go so deeply into the emotions~
    Owah, the feels~ >////<

    Thank you~<3333

  136. Thank you so much :* i love Nekota sensei >.<

  137. I love nekota yonezou.! this might contain rape (?) but i think michiru heya is worse (deals with prostitution)… and in the end, i started loving michiru heya… i’m sure this would be the same :)

  138. Looks promising, thank you! :D

  139. Rebecca Sparks July 7, 2013 at 2:12 am

Thank you for trying out this series. It looks interesting-I can’t wait to see Hachidori’s alter-ego.

The saddest part of it so far (aside from the hints of sexual violence) is that it’s from 8/13, which means waiting… how often does Drap release?

  141. Thank you sooo much! I’m pretty sure I’m already getting addicted to this one… XD

  142. luffy schatz,

Just to clarify: the content itself is not what you should judge it by but how that content is TREATED. Michiru Heya had rape and prostitution, but both of those things were treated as wrong or unfortunate and not as romantic in the least. This series, however, seems to possibly be treating a threat of rape as comedic, which doesn’t bode well.

  143. Rebecca Sparks,

It’s the August issue, but issues are released over a month before (this came out at the end of June), and Drap is a monthly piece, so the next issue will be out at the end of July.

  144. Nekota Yonezou!! Awww thank you very much *dance*

  145. This comment is going to be buried, but it’s okay. I really do appreciate the work that you guys do here at September Scanlations. It’s really HQ and you pump out a lot of stuff with not a lot of rewards for it. I really thank you.

Now, about this release… As someone who actually lives in Japan and is a fan of Nekota’s work, there are two things that need to be said. First of all, it’s a BL story. FIction. It’s what she wants to draw and her editor gave her the okay for. Ultimately she’s drawing this because she feels like it. I’m not undermining rape as something that shouldn’t be treated lightly, but this is clearly one of those aggressive seme gets a straight uke kind of stories. Don’t read it if you don’t like it. She didn’t write it for you and no one is forcing you to read it.

The other thing is, Japan is probably the most homophobic place on earth, next to Korea. Males here are outwardly so physically affectionate to each other, but the minute that someone says “gay” that’s where everyone’s homophobia comes out. So, while this is fiction, it’s actually pretty accurate in terms of slurs and attitude towards homosexuality.

I think people tend to forget these two things, based on the comments here.

  146. Isu,

Please don’t think comments like “it’s just fiction” and “don’t like, don’t read” are going to go down well here. That is not the environment we cultivate here, and if you truly feel that way, you’re not welcome here either. We do not live in a vacuum, and fiction very much informs people’s everyday lives and thoughts. Cultural mores are merely an explanation, not an excuse, for things that appear in fiction–and yes, you ARE undermining the severity of rape by saying, “Well it’s fiction, this is X kind of story and that’s okay!”

If you think the comments here expressing wariness are in any way directed at the very realistic depiction of the homophobic environment in Japan (newsflash: all members of September Scanlations live in Japan and have been here for quite some time), you’re misreading them. The issues are with the almost comedic treatment of threats of rape–that’s all. And if you can’t see what the big deal is, it’s just humor, her editor said it was okay (so of course anyone who thinks differently from her editor must be WRONG), then I’m not sure what you’re even doing here, since this is not the first time this has come up with our pieces.

Don’t like the thoughts and feelings we have, don’t comment and don’t read. Period.

  147. O.O!!!!!
OMG!!!! Thank you guys!!!! I wanted so badly to read it!!!!1

  148. I can’t quote your comment, fencer_x, but I’m replying to it.

I think I have been misunderstood. I wasn’t particularly directing that comment to the team but rather a few comments by other readers left here. A warning was left for content, and possible things to come and yet there were still ‘complaints’ about it. I can tell I have touched a nerve, and I apologize, but I never said ‘it’s JUST fiction’. I just pointed out what kind of material this is. I don’t think that any actual rape will incur, but even so, I’m not okay with it. And I’m not okay with the free usage of slurs in Japan either, they offend me personally.

My main point was just that the artist is free to draw whatever she wants, and while a person might be a fan of her work, if there’s something you don’t agree with, you have the choice not to read it, especially after being warned about it. Even if it’s handled better or well (as in MH). I have personally stopped reading other things from other artists because I didn’t like what was going on. I just wanted to share that.

  149. New goodies… yay…
    Thank you.

  150. Isu,

Where did anyone say she wasn’t free to draw whatever she wants? She’s free to draw what she wants, and readers are free to critique it. By your logic, no one should ever be allowed to critique anyone’s work ever, because all writers/artists are allowed to create what they want.

They were not complaints–they were comments on the problematic content, which we VERY MUCH encourage, because there isn’t nearly enough discussion of these issues in BL manga, as many have your viewpoint: it’s fiction, the artist can draw what they want, don’t like-don’t read. You’ve really come to the wrong place and greatly misunderstood our ‘mission’ here with our scanlations if you thought we would appreciate you telling the people voicing their opinions and wariness about the problematic content (which we acknowledge is problematic by our warnings) that they don’t have to read it if they don’t like it.

I’m pretty sure they know they don’t have to read it; but many of us really love Nekota’s works and don’t want to see her going down the non-con pathway yet again. Those comments are what our comment space is for.

  151. But I was voicing my own opinion about the matter as a fan as well. I didn’t target/criticize anyone specifically and I didn’t say that were wrong for having. Sorry for doing that, I won’t again.

  152. Isu,

And you’re free to do so. I just don’t understand how you could have POSSIBLY thought that saying things that amount to “rape in fiction is okay because it’s fiction, and if you don’t like what an author writes, don’t read it” would remotely be welcome here.

  153. thank you thank you!! uh oh nekota yonezuuu >.<

  154. ugh wait, judging from the comment, does that mean you’re not going to continue Michiru Heya ?
T.T oh no, it was really a good story though, aside from the rape. But personally I think it is okay since the rape was not the main/romantic story of the series. I really love all Nekota Yonezu’s work!!
once again really thanks for scanlating this one! <3

  155. Thank you so much for this new series, hopefully it’ll turn good in the end!!!!^_^

  156. Thank you so much! I really appreciate this new series, u guys did a great work. Again… thanks *-*’ Luv u ♥’

  157. Thank you so much! I’ve been looking forward to reading this!

  158. New Project,yayyy

  159. Thank you so much for working on this story. *hugs*

  160. something or nothing July 12, 2013 at 12:09 pm

Thank you very much for this :D The manga is slightly dodgy, but it’s yaoi, so when isn’t it?

  161. something or nothing,

…plenty of times? How is a gay manga genre in any way excusing or suggestive of problematic themes?

Plenty of the great manga we scanlate manage to be enjoyable without rape. It’s not too high a standard to expect, surely you must realize.

  162. That was very nice, thank you for your hard work !

  163. Thanks for all your hard work once again! I can’t wait for the next chapter to come out! I got a feeling this manga will turn out great.
If one was to disregard Yonezou-sensei’s past work, I don’t see why the first chapter of this manga should cause such a serious discussion. I personally don’t think that the last comment in that first chapter was meant as more than an extended version of a “or else I’ll tear you another one” – something people in RL very often say.
I’d suggest to just wait and see what Yonezou-sensei has got in store for us before the heavy discussions start. :)

  164. Loveberries,

“If one was to disregard Yonezou-sensei’s past work,” But you can’t do that. You have to look at an author’s previous work and divine from that what they value and what they think is OK in their stories. Each work is not made in a vacuum; the same person who writes rape in one story is going to be writing the next one, so everyone is entitled to feel wary.

    You may suggest waiting, and you’re welcome to do so, before making decisions, but it’s never too early to start discussing problematic themes, and regardless of what comes next, there WERE problematic issues in this chapter that merit discussion. I’m not sure why people have such difficulty understanding this -_-;

  165. I really like you guys! I love you that you have put this manga here! :D Thank you for your hard work!

  166. Goodness, the art here is absolutely gorgeous, and the beginning of the story is quite promising. Thanks for this project!

  167. Thanks~~!

  168. OMG!! *-* Nekota Yonezou sensei!! i loveeeeeeeee!!! xD wll thanks for this hard work !!! I love the manga of yonezou sensei…. i just waiting for another job T.T and here iiiis!!

    Thank you very much xD
(sorry i dont write very well the english ._. i´m bad for write jajaja just reading – i hope they understand me ._. -but the urge to comment beyond me xD )

  169. I love Nekota yonezou’s work too. This one seems really interesting (though I do find the use of the word ‘fag’ offensive) it does seem pretty hilarious. Lol. Nichoume. I must go there and see for myself when I go to Japan :) Can’t wait for the second chapter. xoxo

  170. lenaloe,

“(though I do find the use of the word ‘fag’ offensive)” It was supposed to be, reflecting the feelings of the character–it was used in the translation for its offensiveness.

  171. something or nothing July 27, 2013 at 3:24 pm

    In reply to fencer_x,

I apologize if you have interpreted my comment as something callous and dismissive. I did not mean for it to be so, but when I say that yaoi is dodgy, I speak of the situation, in general. But then, fiction itself can be quite unreal. I do not make light of the somewhat offending way the homosexual culture in Japan is portrayed, but I truly do not know any better.
And to tell the truth, the homophobic slurs appalled me, especially as I am all for equality and gay marriage, so I rather disliked the main character until I realized that that is just how homosexuality can be viewed in different societies. He probably has been raised to see things in a specific way, and his (how to put this eloquently)…past would influence how he acts a great deal.
I assume the writer (and from what I’ve read of the comments, she seems to touch on, well, touchy subjects) wants most of what happens in this first chapter to be seen in a comedic fashion, including the um, blackmail at the end. So far, I don’t think this has crossed the line, and I find it interesting, so I shall continue reading. I can only hope that she doesn’t cross over my lines, as I find the characters quite adorable despite their (well, the main character’s, geez, I can’t even remember his name) misgivings. However, this is only the opinion of one fan, and is rather insignificant in the long run.

Thank you for replying to my message, as I can be quite dismissive without realizing that I am.
(Umm, I do not know if I may be asking too much, but do you know of any…well, what you define as ‘good’ yaoi? I would love you for the duration of my time reading them and a little more. And I do love most of the manga on this site, this one too.)

Oh dear. That’s a whole lot of text for a reply to a few lines. Um. Sorry?

  172. I can’t wait for the next chapter!

  173. Thanks for your Hard Work!

Even if i can’t write a comment on the Newest Chapter because i am surprised by all the Reaction here, but …
For me, Yaoi is Porn for Woman (and Gay People?)Point. Hentai-Mangaka (For Guys?) doesnt care what they draw too, dont they? So why so b!itchy about somethings thats a bit harder than all the other stuff…

  174. Awesome, Thanks for sharing!

  175. GAHHHHHH !!!!!
It’s so beautiful! The cuteness just made me into a drooling mess of puddle.

  176. ch2 was just released and comments were closed for it. i wanted to say please don’t stop this series just because a few people don’t understand that fiction is just that, fiction… and that they feel the need to soap box and ruin it for everyone else. as it is plenty of people, at least here in US, wouldn’t want anyone reading ANY form of yaoi/bl period. i hate to think within our peer group there are those who wish to censor what one should and shouldn’t read .thanks SS for picking this up. it really isn’t that big of deal! Nekota Yonezou the next Mark Twain….

  177. I just feel that Books, Movies, and Yaoi mangas include offensive material because that’s life. It’s reality. “Most” of the time if a gay man asked a straight guy for sex he wouldn’t say ” OK my house or yours.” He may be offended and say offensive things. This is reality. So if someone finds it offensive then just don’t read it…don’t ruin it for everyone else. I really like this manga and I pray with all my heart that you’ll finish it.

  178. okyakusan,

“Don’t like, Don’t read” is not a welcome sentiment here, so please do not post as such in our comments. We will finish it if it does not have offensive content–not because we ‘don’t like stuff that happens in real life’ but because we choose not to romanticize rape and problematic content.

If you do not agree with this sentiment, you’re welcome to go elsewhere to find groups that don’t have our standards.

  179. Octoberman,

I’m not sure what to make of your comment, but you seem to think that rape threats and comedic homophobia are not a big deal. This is not how we feel and we’ll thank you not to say as such in our comments. This is why comments were closed.
