Chapter 3

Rei comes back to consciousness–he feels lethargic and can’t remember where he is or what’s happened…and yet his body feels almost…refreshed, and he slowly starts to recall why he’s lying here–

“Riiiiise and shine! You awake??”

Rei jerks alert and twists onto his side to see Shougo lying next to him–and suddenly everything comes crashing back.

He realizes now that he’s quite screwed–he’s laid a hand on the child of his savior and employer! He won’t be able to stay by Seiya’s side now… He’s so shocked at the realization he can’t even feel sad yet.

Next to him, though, Shougo leans in. “Heeeey, what’s wrong? You look all down…” This nonchalant reaction to what they’ve done pushes Rei over the edge, and he snaps his response, hurt and angry that he won’t be able to stay at SenaPro now that he’s done this with Seiya’s own son.

Shougo’s a bit confused, suffice to say–is Rei talking about the sex? Because to him, sex is just another form of communication, kind of like a greeting, that’s all! He doesn’t think there’s any reason to take it so seriously–but Rei is hardly appeased. Shougo goes on to mention that he didn’t seem like it was his first time with a guy, and he’d thought they’d had fun–to which Rei replies, forgetting for a moment the situation, that well that was just when he was sowing his wild oats as a kid, that’s all. He’s changed now, left that life behind after meeting Seiya.

Shougo warns him that it’s a waste to leave his erotic body alone, that bottling everything up has him jerking himself off in Shougo’s father’s bed–and at remembering this, Rei’s shoulders slump, and he mutters aloud, as if to remind himself, that yes, this is all his fault. He has to take responsibility for not only holding these dirty feelings for Seiya but also for doing this sort of thing with a minor.

Shougo watches him berate himself for a moment before reminding him, “…Umm, well, actually I was the one that made a move on you so…” Rei snaps that it doesn’t matter–he was the older one, he was supposed to be the more mature one. He’s going to have to leave this place without paying back Seiya even a small fraction of what he’s received.

“…Oh. Well then–why not just keep it a secret? It’ll be just between the two of us!”

Rei is confused at this sudden suggestion. “You…won’t tell anyone? About this–or about my feelings for Seiya-san?”

“Sure! Promise!” Shougo assures him, and with a pinky-promise, the deal is struck. Rei doesn’t know how much he can trust this childish guy, but…for now it seems he does at least intend not to tell anyone about what they’ve done. Which means Rei still has a home at SenaPro.

“Now then–let’s do it again!” Huh? “We’ve done it once already, so what’s another two or three times?? I got kinda turned on watching your pretty face while you slept, but I figured you’d get pissed if I tried it while you were sleeping!”

Rei can feel himself seething inside at the audacity and opens his mouth to deliver a verbal lashing–but then realizes…he might not have the right to refuse. Shougo doesn’t strike Rei as the type who feels like he should keep his sexuality from his parents, and he agreed awfully quickly to keep this a secret. What if he intended to hold this over Rei’s head?

He really has no choice but to go along with whatever he wants to make sure he stays quiet. “…Fine. But we’re changing locations first.”

And this is how their relationship starts.

The next morning, Rei is waiting for the Sena family to return. He’s tired in body and mind from spending time with Shougo the previous day, but he’s determined to keep it a secret (even if he’s not entirely confident he’ll be successful).

Shougo’s still asleep in his own room, having retired there in the afternoon–it’s hardly surprising considering he’d just completed a long journey and then jumped right into bed with Rei. He considers waking up Shougo as he’s about to leave for Haneda to pick up the Senas, but tells himself it’d be rude to wake him (mostly an excuse) and departs alone.

He has mixed feelings about seeing the family–worry that they’ll realize what he’s done with Shougo, and pain and hurt over his unrequited feelings for Seiya, but also a sense of relief at finally being with them again after a long while apart.

The family arrive just on time, and Izumi’s excited to see Rei. Seiya asks if anything happened while they were gone, and after some fumbling, Rei lets them know that Shougo is visiting, much to Izumi’s elation. Rei recalls distantly that on their first meeting, Seiya had let him know that Izumi was extremely fond of his brother. Rei and the Senas head home making small talk the whole while, with Rei fumbling every time Shougo’s name comes up. (smooth move)

On arrival, Izumi jumps out of the car and runs into the house shouting excitedly for his brother–Rei and the others enter after him and head into the living room to find Shougo holding Izumi in his arms squeezing him tightly in greeting. He then proceeds to pepper Izumi’s cheeks with kisses and hug him tighter, going on and on about how adorable Izumi is–and it’s at this point that Rei realizes Shougo has a really bad brother complex.

His parents seem unfazed by the behavior though and proceed to berate Shougo for not telling them he was coming home (all while Shougo now is playing with Izumi seated in his lap). Seiya then apologizes to Rei, assuming he was surprised by Shougo suddenly showing up. He goes on to thank Rei for keeping an eye on everything, even going out of his way to tidy up their bedroom (which of course had been only to cover up the evidence of what Rei and Shougo had done there). He pats Rei on the head, and at the first contact with Seiya in a while, Rei’s cheeks flush. Despite all that’s happened, he’s thrilled to be complimented by Seiya, and a genuine smile fills his face.

–until he feels someone watching him, and he blinks and looks around. No one is looking at him, though; Nagisa is still complaining to Shougo about his never calling or writing, and he brushes it off as his imagination.

About a week later, and the family are sharing a meal together on the eve of Shougo returning to his studies abroad.

Rei had at first worried that, capitalizing on their agreement, Shougo would claim him every night he could, but it seems Shougo has a lot of friends in Japan and spends most of the day out with them, and most nights he sleeps with Izumi to keep him company, so he actually hardly bothers Rei at all. He feels bad for Izumi, who’s sad his brother has to leave, but is relieved that the problem is finally about to be out of the picture.

The conversation at the table winds around to discussing Shougo’s plans for the future–he at least intends to graduate college abroad–maybe even graduate early–but for now he doesn’t have anything particular planned.

Seiya sighs, “So…you still don’t plan to go into entertainment, then?” Nope, Shougo does not. This confuses Rei; he hardly wants to praise the guy to his face, but he does have a nice body and nice voice and looks ten times more like an idol than the people he sees on TV. Rei had just assumed Shougo would enter the showbiz world after graduating given his bloodline. Given Seiya’s and Nagisa’s dejected reactions, though, it’s clear they’ve discussed this a number of times before.

After dinner, Nagisa goes to prepare for bed, while Izumi and Shougo retire to Izumi’s room, as Izumi’s already depressed his brother will be gone soon–leaving Seiya and Rei alone at the table sharing after-dinner tea. It’s been a while since it was just the two of them, and Rei fights conflicting feelings of nerves and joy.

But Seiya doesn’t seem himself–and Rei prods that he’s still worried about Shougo. Seiya nods–Shougo can do anything he wants. He’s good at sports and studies, and if he just exerts himself even a little he finds himself sitting at the top. For that reason, it’s hard for him to find something that’s really worth doing. Seiya himself wishes Shougo would become a singer, given his vocal talents, but he suspects Shougo doesn’t want to follow the same path as his father.

Seiya retires to his room, asking Rei to take Shougo to Narita the next day to send him off.

Rei reflects on Seiya’s opinion of Shougo–he never would have realized from his attitude that he was a genius. Graduating early, any career he could want available for him… He thinks it’s kind of sad for someone who could have everything to not be able to choose anything.

Late that evening, Rei jolts awake when someone enters his room. “…It’s my last night, so I came by~”

Rei frowns at the way he’s trying to come off cute. “Everyone’s here–we can’t,” to which Shougo replies that Rei just has to make sure he’s quiet and they’ll be fine. Rei reminds him that’s not the issue, but Shougo pouts that he’s been a good boy and kept their secret and he deserves a prize. At this reminder, Rei realizes he really has no choice.

Shougo lets him know that if he really is worried about his voice, they can just gag him! Rei blanches at the thought, but realizes so long as they don’t make much noise, no one will know, and agrees to it. Shougo happily binds his mouth, makes sure it doesn’t hurt, and then dives right in–now binding Rei’s hands together as well, which had decidedly not been part of the agreement. At Rei’s obvious surprise and confusion, Shougo lightly remarks that he thought he’d take the opportunity to try a little bondage since it looked fun~! He’s having fun, like a kid with a new video game.

He presses Rei down and starts to unbutton his pajamas, and while Rei doesn’t really like this idea, it seems to be making Shougo happy, so he gives in.
